Dr. Shreya Hessler

About Shreya Hessler, Psy. D.

Dr. Shreya Hessler is a psychologist, speaker, and educator dedicated to helping individuals, schools, and organizations flourish through intention—not perfection. She is the owner and director of The MINDset Center in Bel Air, Maryland, where she provides clinical care to pediatric and adult populations. Her specializations include anxiety, learning disorders, and high pressure performance and sport psychology.

Across more than two decades of clinical practice, Dr. Hessler has worked with individuals and families navigating growth, pressure, failure, and transition at every stage of life. Her work challenges the idea that wellness is achieved through optimization or constant self-improvement. Instead, she emphasizes the importance of building proactive mental wellness skills and normalizing stumble stories—the imperfect, often hidden moments that shape resilience, self-trust, and sustainable growth.
Dr. Hessler is the author of Bianca Finds Her Bounce, a children’s book that helps young readers understand and manage anxiety through compassion and self-awareness. She has also held faculty positions at Loyola University Maryland and Towson University, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, bringing clinical insight into academic and professional training environments.

A recognized leader in the field, Dr. Hessler is a past President of the Maryland Psychological Association, serving as the organization’s youngest president and the first woman of color in that role. In 2022, she was awarded Loyola University’s Distinguished Alumni Award in recognition of her dedication to pediatric mental health advocacy and community impact. Over the past 20 years, she has spoken at the local, state, and national levels on the impact of anxiety across the lifespan.

In her recent TEDx talk, Dr. Hessler explores how sharing stumble stories—and loosening our grip on polished success narratives—creates psychological safety, deepens connection, and transforms how we learn, lead, and grow. This work extends into her speaking and workshops with educators, companies, and organizations seeking more than surface-level self-care solutions.

Dr. Hessler is also a leader in the digital well-being space, designing tech-free and intention-based experiences that help individuals interrupt autopilot behaviors and reclaim agency in their daily routines. Rather than promoting digital detox as avoidance, her approach reframes it as mindful engagement—using micro-moments of intention to integrate wellness, attention, and growth into everyday life.

A champion of proactive mental wellness skill-building, Dr. Hessler frequently presents on equipping young people, emerging adults, parents, educators, and organizations with practical strategies to manage big emotions, sustain engagement, and build cultures rooted in intention, resilience, and human flourishing.
